Phalebash (Parbat), Feb 25: CPN (UML) senior leader and former Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has expressed his doubt over the local level elections from taking place on the scheduled date of May 14.
During an interaction with party cadres on Friday evening at Kushma Bazaar, the district headquarters of Parbat, Nepal accused the governing parties of not being serious towards the elections and said the environment has failed to give assurance of the elections.
He added that the opposition from the Madhes-based parties and slow pace of the preparations were the reasons contributing to his doubts regarding the elections. Stating that constitution amendment proposal is not in the interest of the country, Nepal reiterated UML’ stance to never support it.
Underlining constitution’s implementation as a prime challenge, Nepal said, “Various forces will raise their heads if the constitution is not implemented, so there is need for a unity between the political forces to counter this.” RSS
