Taskforce formed to study budget fund transfer

Kathmandu, Feb 22: Legislature-Parliament’s International Relations and Labour Committee has formed a 13-member taskforce to study into the amendment to the programmes included in the budget and the transfer of budgetary funds, and to present a report on this.

The committee decided to constitute the taskforce and carry out a study on the issue in response to the complaints that the budget fund earmarked for the programmes by the erstwhile government through the budget statement had been extensively transferred to other headings.

The committee president Prabhu Saha is the taskforce coordinator. The members of the taskforce include Madhav Kumar Nepal, Narayan Man Bijukchhe, Anjani Shrestha, Ashok Kumar Mandal, Keshari Ghartimagar, Chudamani Jangali, Jitendra Narayan Dev, Pushkar Acharya, Bharat Bahadur Khadka, Dr Rajan Bhattarai, Rajya Laxmi Shrestha and Radha Timilsina.

The taskforce will also study the progress of the projects of national pride and the challenges seen in their implementation, and submit a report on this to the committee.

Earlier, speaking in the committee’s meeting, the committee members underlined the need of expediting the construction of infrastructure projects and the projects of national pride. They also suggested the government officials to increase the capital spending in these projects. RSS
