Addressing a programme organised in Kathmandu to celebrate the Chinese Tibetan Lhosar, Yu highlighted Nepal’s relationship with China that has developed steadily with deepened cooperation in politics, economy, trade and culture.

“China and Nepal are friendly neighbours linked by mountains and rivers,” Yu said. The continuous development of bilateral relationship would not have been possible “without the support and contribution of the Tibetan compatriots in Nepal,” she added, emphasising the role of Tibet in fostering relations between the two neighbours.

Yu said it was a common responsibility of the Tibetan compatriots in Nepal to
maintain the stability and unity of Tibet and to realise the prosperity and progress of the Chinese autonomous region.
