Security forces mobilized to remove snow in Manang

Lamjung (Besisahar), March 14: The Army and Police forces have been mobilized to smoothly operate snow-disrupted vehicular movement in Manang – a trans-Himalayan district.

Assistant Chief District Officer of Manang Dhirendra Raj Pant informed that the Army and Police squads have been mobilized to remove snow piled up on the road.

A meeting of the District Security Committee took the decision to mobilize security forces to clear the deck on road and ensure smooth transportation.

The heavy snowfall had disrupted road from Timang to Khangsar in the district and road clearance work has started from Chame on Monday, said Pant.

With bulks of snow on road, it has been difficult for pedestrians to walk along and reach thir destinations and for tourists to enjoy trekking along the Annapurna route. RSS
