Potato farming kicks off with rise in mercury

Rasuwa, Feb 18: Rural farmers of northern Rasuwa district have started planting seasonal potato with gradual rise in mercury.
Senior Agriculture Development Officer Ramesh Humagain shared that potato farming has begun in 1,630 Hectares of total fertile land of the district.
The potato farming would be completed by coming March 3 while it would be harvested only after July, he informed.
Crop Protection Officer Radheshyam Barai said that the total potato yields from the farming would be around 21,000 Metric Tons.
It is shared that the potatoes produced in Rasuwa are supplied to Nuwakot and Kathmandu for its good quality.
Under the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project, the District Agriculture Development Office, Rasuwa had imparted training to 22 frontline farmers of Gatlang area to boost agriculture yields. RSS
