bbau-up-23022017103744-1000x0-23022017114814-1000x0Feb 23, 2017- Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Nepal and Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal’s Chairman Upendra Yadav have demanded the government withdraw its election announcement decision.

The two leaders issued a joint statement on Thursday and demanded federal and provincial elections be conducted first and asked the government to withdraw its decision to conduct local bodies election. The two leaders claimed such decision would push the country towards instability and uncertainty. The government on Monday announced to conduct the local level elections on May 14—after a gap of two decades.

The two leaders have demanded endorsement of amendment bill with further amendments, conduction of federal and provincial election, directly-elected executive head, among others, in their six points statement.
