Woman’s skeletal remains found hanging from tree

Ilam, July 14: A woman’s skeletal remains were found on Thursday three weeks after she was reported missing.

36 – year – old Devi Maya Fago of Sangrumba of Ilam municipality – 12 had left her home on June 21 for election publicity campaign, but did not return home. Her skeleton was found hanging from a tree at a field belonging to Dhan Bahadur Bohara of Dokantole in Ilam municipality – 12, police said.

Her father, Lakh Bahadur Fago, had filed a case of a missing person at the District Police Office on June 24. Local villagers foraging for grass had found the skeleton and informed the police, Inspector Ambar Bahadur Niraula said. The police identified the person by her clothes and slippers.

Inspector Niraula said the authorities were investigating if the death is a suicide or a murder case. The skeleton was sent to the District Police Office, Ilam for DNA test. RSS
